Mediation Fees

All mediations, with the exception of pro bono or court-ordered Rule 38 reduced-fee mediations, will incur a non-negotiable, non-refundable $150 deposit/preparation fee. This fee is required to schedule your mediation and will be applied to the total cost of the mediation. The balance will be required to be paid before the mediation session can begin. Mediation fees are generally borne equally by both parties, unless some other agreement is reached by the parties. Please be advised that personal checks are not accepted.

Four (4) hour mediation session: $600

Eight (8) hour mediation session: $1,000

If you reserve a four (4) hour mediation, and your session exceeds 4 hours, then you will be charged $150 per hour until 6:00 PM. For both the four (4) hour and the eight (8) hour sessions: if your mediation is still ongoing at 6:00 PM, a discussion will be held with all parties to determine whether it is feasible to continue with the session past that time, i.e. if the parties are close to a settlement.

If you have an attorney, please feel free to include them in this process as early as possible so that schedules can be coordinated among all parties.

Mediation is a very valuable process to resolve disputes, and it is usually successful if both parties are willing to proceed with an open mind. However, it can take some time for parties to come to an agreement. Therefore, it is important to be prepared. This means making arrangements for child care or to bring snacks if you suffer from low blood sugar.

Once your mediation is scheduled and the deposit is paid, you will receive a packet via e-mail or by regular mail that will need to be filled out and returned to the mediator as soon as possible, but no later than the deadline in the confirmation letter. Failure to return the requested information within the designated time frame could result in a delay of the mediation process.
